If you are reading this, then you know that I made it back safely from the memorial service yesterday. The roads were actually not a problem at all -- they were clear and dry for the most part. We did drive through some snow showers, but they didn’t cause any problems.
The service was a great memorial to my grandmother. I’ve mentioned in a previous post how large my family is. My mom and aunt did some figuring and my grandmother had 89 grandchildren, great grands and great great grands and that doesn’t include spouses. There were probably 60 or so of us at the service. Some of the family live in other states as well as other countries and just couldn’t make it. The family closed the service by forming an adhoc choir and singing “It Is Well With My Soul”. All 60+ of us walked to the front of the church and sang this great hymn unrehearsed! My grandmother would have loved it! What a fitting way to end the life of one so dear. What a legacy she has left behind! She will be missed!
